Veterinary Technician

Applications are now being accepted for part-time Licensed Veterinary Technician in the Animal Health Department at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. This position assists the veterinary staff in all aspects of animal health care and veterinary hospital operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining veterinary facilities, equipment, veterinary records and supplies; assisting with immobilizations, surgeries, treatments, radiology and necropsies; laboratory testing; caring for hospitalized animals; and occasional work as the quarantine facility keeper.

Our veterinary team is seeking a highly energetic and experienced technician who enjoys a cooperative, varied and challenging work environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician looking for a career in Zoo Medicine.

This position currently is for 20 hours per week with a potential for expanded hours in the future. The pay rate is $19.46 per hour. The preferred applicant will have experience in a zoo or exotic animal practice including laboratory skills; be available to work Saturdays and Sundays on a regular basis; and be available for additional hours or days on an as-needed basis. Eligibility to be licensed in Washington State as a Veterinary Technician is required. Valid Washington Driver’s License is also is required.
