VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
  Clinical Pathology Laboratory - White Oak Conservation Center. 

This position has the responsibility of supplying clinical pathology technical laboratory support to the Center's veterinary staff. Oversees the day to day functioning of the clinical pathology laboratory, quality control program, and providing laboratory analysis including:  hematology, serum chemistries, cytology, fecal parasite examinations and neonatal blood work. Responsible for data entry of clinical pathology records into electronic medical records database (MedARKS).  Maintains and archives conventional paper medical records.  Oversees the preventive parasitology screening program for the animal collection, the Johne's disease screening program for ruminants, the pre-shipment testing requirements, biomaterials banking, and other programs as needed.  Assists with clinical procedures, neonatal care, and research as needed.  Must be able to work well with students and be willing to teach.  Qualified candidates will have a degree in medical or veterinary technology from an approved and accredited program.  Position requires a minimum of one year of experience as a technician in a clinical pathology reference lab or providing laboratory support in a veterinary or medical practice.  White Oak is an equal opportunity employer.
